The European Union has
added cryptocurrency trade HTX to its newest bundle of sanctions in opposition to
Russia, increasing efforts to limit monetary networks that European
authorities say have helped Moscow bypass present restrictions.
The bundle was
adopted yesterday (Thursday) and covers Russian banks, cryptocurrency service
suppliers, oil merchants, the so-called shadow fleet and power revenues. An inventory
launched on Friday names 18 crypto-related corporations that the EU stated had
assisted Russian customers in evading sanctions imposed over the battle in Ukraine.
EU Motion Follows Earlier UK Sanctions
The choice follows
related motion by the UK in Could. At the moment, British
authorities sanctioned HTX along with 17 different crypto-related companies,
